Bridgnorth Pavements

20th March 2017

Bridgnorth’s MP is backing a campaign to make safe and improve access to the pavement in front of shops on Queensway Drive, after a number of injuries in recent years.

Mr Dunne offered his support to the campaign by Town Councillor Carol Whittle, began last year, to improve the pathway in front of the shops, after a local man died due to complications caused from a fall on the steps.

Mr Dunne said: “I am happy to try and help improve the access in front of shops at Queensway. It is very clear proper disabled access is needed, which would also help mums with pushchairs. Part of the difficulty in making repairs and improving access has been caused by the fact the land is unregistered, but recent injuries mean this issue needs resolving as soon as possible. I am encouraging Shropshire Council to look at the paving and make sure it is disability access compliant.”
