Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics, showing a record number of people in work, have been welcomed by South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne.
The figures show the number of people in employment reached 32.07 million. Unemployment has fallen to 4.4%, the lowest number since 1975. Since 2010, 3 million jobs have been created, 82% of which are full time.
The number of people relying on jobseekers allowance or universal credit in the Ludlow Constituency fell by 10, from June to July 2017.
Mr Dunne said: "These figures show the importance of delivering a strong economy - a million fewer people unemployed in the UK than in 2010, and full time employment is at a record high.
Low unemployment, high employment and over three quarters of a million vacancies is great news. By focusing on growing our economy, more families in South Shropshire now have the security of a regular pay-packet."
